Elias served as union leader (Cosatu affliate – Sactwu) as National Organising Secretary, responsible for collective bargaining for 15 years. He then joined the business world in 1995. In 2004 he became CEO of the Vukani Gaming Cooperation until 2010. He is now chairman of HCI a listed group of companies and also a non-executive Director of EMedia group as well as Tsogo Sun.

MIKE VAN WYK

Mike has over 15 years of experience in executive position of CEO for various companies in the health care and safety industry. Mike has been with Medicare 24 since its inception. He holds numerous qualifications from local and international universities. Mike has been in the heart of the health and safety industry for over 20 years. Mike has also recently acquired his Masters in business administration.

JEANETTA HENDRICKS

Chief Executive Officer Corporate Services

Jeanetta Hendricks has been in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years. Her experience stretches across multiple disciplines namely: Healthcare, Individuals Financial planning, Trade Union funds and Employee Benefits. Jeanetta has let and directed Financial Services Providers in her capacity as key individual and Managing Director. She holds qualifications in Wealth Management, Trustee training and has attained her MBA. Her experience in these industries are well demonstrated through the opinion pieces and through leadership articles she is asked to write for in leading industry publications and seminars. Driven by passion, Jeanetta is more often than not found training people in both formal and informal settings. Her belief for quality above quantity is demonstrated in the time she invests in developing human capital.

MARK SCHRODER

Chief Executive Officer KZN

Mark started his career in the agricultural sector, managing a family farm of sugar and timber comprising of 30,000 tons of cane per annum and 120 hectares of timber. In 1995 a business opportunity emerged with the American Standards Supply Company (TRANE) and Mark was appointed CEO pf the South African agency under the distribution agreement. Mark joined Medicare 24 and was tasked in developing the KZN and Coastal regions (Eastern Cape and Western Cape) as part of the team and the companies national roll-out plan. Mark now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the KwaZulu Natal Branch.

DR. BASIL DHANIRAM

Principal Medical Officer

Dr. Basil Dhaniram started his career within the medical field in 1994 after having completed his medical studies in 1993. Dr Dhaniram hold numerous qualification in the medical field spanning from General practitioner, HIV Management and Occupational Health to name but a few. He was involved in the concept development and launch of the Woman’s Clinic in 2002. Dr. Dhaniram has owned and managed several practices in his time which were focused at assisting communities that did not have access to affordable health care. His passion is embedded in Primary and Occupational Health Care. Dr. Dhaniram believes in offering quality service and health care to all individuals irrespective of their circumstances or background, this is evident in the community and NGO projects he has and continues to be affiliated with Dr. Dhaniram now serves as the Principle Medical Officer for the KwaZulu Natal Clinic.

JAMES MURRY

Managing Director Group

James Murray has been in the medical scheme and health care industry for over 20 years. His experience stretches over multiple disciplines namely: health care, individual medical cover, medical scheme compliance and the financial industry. James has managed various facets of the business and has been employed by some of the top medical schemes in South Africa. James is currently reading for his Masters in Business Administration.
